Board Minutes - June 27, 2019

Minutes from April 11th board meeting was read and a motion was made by Ruthann to accept the minutes, seconded by Barbara; Motion carried
Financial Statements for March were presented and discussed. All finances are in order and on schedule.
Budget for the 2019-2020 school was submitted and approved. A motion was made by Judy to accept the budget and seconded by Ruthann; Motion carried.
- Budget Included: Salary Increase – A salary proposal was made to cover the next three years (2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022).
- Instructional teachers would receive $1,000 per year
- Paraprofessionals, Food Service, Maintenance would receive $.50 per hour or 3% whichever is greater annually.
- Administration would receive 3% annually.
- Increase beginning salary for instructional teachers to $32,000
- Increase beginning salary for paraprofessionals to $9.75 per hour
- Budget Included; Signing bonuses for employees who met the qualifications
Motion was made to accept the salary schedule for the coming three years by Barbara and seconded by Jody; Motion carried.
Student Resource Officer and Mental Health Plan – Whispering Winds will follow the School Board of Levy County Mental Health Plan, the district will provide counselors and any other resources to meet the needs of our students; in turn the district will withhold the mental health allocation (Apprx. $4,400).
The district negotiated with the Levy County Sherriff’s Department on our behalf to provide an SRO full time for our school. In turn the District will withhold the safe school allocation (Apprx. $10,500) and WWCS agrees to pay the difference in the cost of the officer for the school.
New Business – Megan Hassell would like to be on the board of WWCS. A motion was made to accept Megan as a board member by Barbara and all voted yes.

SAC Meeting
Student Parent Handbook was looked over and discussed. It was approved by the SAC committee for the 2019-2020 school year with minor changes.
The next SAC meeting would be November 2019.
