Board Minutes - July 26, 2018

Members Present – Ruthann Ross, Jody Studstill, Judy Benton

Kimberly Bartley – Directors; Jennifer Pittman; Angie Jordan – Data Clerk

Board minutes from previous meeting – A motion was made Judy Benton to accept the board minutes from the 5/31/2018 board meeting, seconded by Jody Studstill; Motion carried.     

Mental Health Plan – Whispering Winds will follow the district Mental Health Plan, it meets all the mandated state requirements.  

School Safety Plan – Whispering Winds is working with Dennis Webber, the District Safety Director, along with the Levy County Sherriff’s Office , the fire department, and other agencies to ensure we are abiding by the new laws and to make our schools safer for the students.  We had our initial walk though and some of the suggestions was to install additional fencing, replace door handles in the classrooms, among other various tasks.  We have received a quote for the fending and requested that to be installed.  We have spoken to the locksmith about the classroom doors and he is working on a quote for us.  

All classrooms now have an aide with a full time teacher.  

Our school grade is “C”.
